Our Solution 

We established a definition of the waste streams and the degree of uncertainty relating to each with respect to the key parameters for disposal was also identified.

Solutions were then developed for each waste stream that addressed the constraints imposed by the limited facility infrastructure and those imposed by modern facilities and the site wide strategy. The strategy was then subject to an overview risk assessment to define key assumptions and areas of uncertainty.

A programme of work was developed to resolve areas of uncertainty and provide a robust solution for the decommissioning of the pond. Specific studies were carried out to develop solutions for aspects of the strategy.
