Thinking of taking a break between school and university and
looking for something challenging and rewarding?
Real, interesting paid work for the year - An opportunity to review
your degree and career - A better chance of sponsorship - A
contribution to your professional experience - A likelihood of a better
degree - Management and Industrial Training - Eligible for the Durham
University Certificate of Industrial Training. In conjunction
with Durham University, REACT offers employment to a Year in Industry
Student for the period September-July inclusive (or longer).
The year starts with an induction course held at Durham University followed by a work placement with REACT. Students will accomplish a work-based project while undertaking
challenging work at REACT, working alongside professional, chartered
engineers.
Students
who have work experience are known to bring a greater breadth of
experience to their studies. Figures show that 73% of Year in Industry
students have so far achieved First and Upper Second Class Degrees.
Students will also be able to register on the IMechE’s MPDS Scheme and
therefore use the experience gained to directly count towards gaining
chartered status.

Scheme, contact YiI Northern Area Office - Telephone 0161 278 2497 or
