Charlotte Maxwell

“I’m Charlotte and I am a 4th year apprentice at React Engineering. I started working at React when I was 18, coming straight from sixth form into a Project Management Degree Apprenticeship.

I attend the University of Cumbria on day release each week to undertake academic studies, whilst the remaining 4 days of the week I work full time at React. My work at React is extremely beneficial as it enables me to put my learning into practice, to further develop my skills, whilst seeing real life examples of projects that you wouldn’t be privy to as part of a normal degree. All of the work I do is part of a friendly and supportive team who provide me with the right environment to learn, whilst also really pushing me to thrive.

The experiences that React have provided me throughout my apprenticeship have been invaluable – I have been given levels of responsibilities that often people my age aren’t provided with, which has increased both my confidence and skill greatly”.

Charlie Bowman

Being an apprentice for React is quite different in comparison to other apprenticeship providers. React has progressively given me more opportunities and responsibility to work within different areas of the company on various tasks and projects. Having the chance to work on different areas and projects has given me exposure to a diverse range of challenges and scenarios.

This experience has helped me gain a more comprehensive understanding of the nuclear decommissioning industry. Reacts approach with their apprentices has allowed me to grow rapidly and without this approach, I feel I would be months, if not years behind in terms of experience and knowledge.”
