At University

To enhance your learning at university we offer summer and placement years in both our Cleator Moor and Warrington offices. During these placements, you will work alongside our Consultants and Project employees on real live projects. It is an excellent opportunity to put your learning into practise and also enhance your knowledge and skills for your remaining studies at university.

Nicholas Raeburn

“I found out about React via my university’s placement year career team at the University of Nottingham. The opportunity intrigued me, not only because of the significant role they hold in the nuclear sector but particularly because of their focus on community and staff development. This passion for their people reflected in the company culture – within the first few months, assigning me a personal development mentor who helped me with my chartership journey and after the first six, offering me a place on their Futures scheme.

I am eager to embark on this opportunity because it allows me to return to React as a full-time Engineering Consultant and continue in the work I left off. I will be able to align myself with work that contributes to my goal in becoming chartered and work on a wide range of projects that will challenge me day-to-day”.

“I applied to React for my placement year after seeing it advertised by my university careers team and knowing my sister had recently started as a Graduate Consultant. I’ve been interested in the nuclear sector since I was in school and always wanted to spend my placement year working in the industry. When I came in for an interview I was given an introduction to the company and an understanding of their values and I felt a connection and like I’d be able to fit in well here.

Six months into my placement year, I was offered the futures scheme which means that I am soon to go back to University to finish the last year of my integrated masters knowing I have a job secured. I’ve loved my past year working at React because I enjoy being faced with new challenges and the independence I’m given to take ownership of work. I look forward to returning next year”.
